Nelson Mandela – Blue Tits

By Brian Robinson.

What is the connection between Nelson Mandela and blue tits you are probably asking? Well, it seems that both of them can be seen as evidence of some sort of common consciousness. Most people in the UK will be aware that blue tits locked onto the idea that they could get a free meal by piercing the top of milk bottles and feasting on the cream inside. This first happened early in the twentieth century. What was strange about this, was the rate at which this behaviour spread amongst the blue tit population. This practice spread rapidly from the south coast, where it was first noticed, right up into Scotland and even out into Europe. The rate of the spread could not be explained by learned behaviour. It seemed that the birds must be communicating in a way that was not understood. Or in other words, there must be a common consciousness between them.

The so called Nelson Mandela Effect is also well known and seems to be an example of where our common consciousness appears to get things wrong. Many people came to believe that Nelson Mandela died in prison in the eighties, whereas we know he was eventually released form prison and died in 2013. Many people even say they recall seeing clips of his funeral on TV. Another example of a common false memory is where individuals are found to believe that there is 51 or 52 states in the USA as opposed to 50. Some even hold the belief that Puerto Rico is a US state.

The idea of a collective or common consciousness is not a new one. Carl Jung, the eminent psychoanalyst first mooted the possibility in an essay in 1916. Many of the experts dismissed this idea outright, but our knowledge of the world at quantum level appears to be suggesting we should take this idea seriously. Particles seem to know when they are being looked at (The Observer Effect). And paired particles appear to know what the other one is doing regardless of the distance between them (Entanglement). This suggests a connected consciousness at quantum level which not understood.

In more recent times, experiments have shown that powerful shared emotional experiences can actually register on instruments outside of the human body. Random Number Generators, for example, have been used to look for a correlation between shared human experience and the data produced by these generators. The number data the machines create should be random, but the experiments have shown that subtle structures emerge in the numbers when human beings share a powerful experience.

This has led to an experiment known as The Global Consciousness Project. 70 random number generating devices have been located at strategic sites around the world in order to record and monitor these subtle numeric reactions.

The obvious question to ask, is why would powerful shared emotional experiences cause a structure to numbers which should be random? This may link to the idea that the universe and everything in it are simply mathematical constructs. And therefore, disturbances in the minds of humans may be powerful enough to bring about disturbances in the mathematics of the universe? Crikey!
