A friend suggested I read a book. It came highly recommended. ‘How Not to Die’ by Dr Michael Greger.
I didn’t like the bookseller’s attitude though. “You don’t want to read that book. This is the book you want to read,” he growled offering me a completely different tome.
The book was entitled ‘How to Live Forever’, but he omitted to give any further information as to who wrote it or when it was published.
“You’ll have to connect with it,” he warned. “Don’t just read the words.”
“It would be nice to think we could all live forever,” I said as I accepted the book.
“You’ll have to go back to the beginning of evolution and try and turn things around,” he said with a wry smile.
“Not a big ask then,” I said sarcastically.
He grinned again and said, “Soak up every word.”
When I started to read later at home, I found all the pages were blank. I had been had. This was his idea of a joke. Then I looked again carefully, and I found a single word written in capitals on one of the middle pages. The word said ‘LOVE’.
I think I know who wrote the book now. So I took the bookseller’s advice, I soaked it up. Now I need to let it flow out.
